Larry Craig is going to announce his resignation from the US Senate on Saturday, September 1, 2007, but he remains sturdy about his innocence. He will stay in the Senate until September 30, 2007. There will be a special election held in Idaho for his Republican seat. As it stands, the Republican governor will fill the seat with someone of his choosing. (I’m pretty sure.)

After I listened to the taped ‘confession’ given by the senator, I was almost convinced he was telling the truth. Almost, however, is not a word that works well in the Republican Party when you screw up this badly. See ya!

This is going to be an Open Trackback Weekend for all those lonely souls who have no place to go this Labor Day Weekend. I always thought, however, that LABOR day was a day when EVERYONE WORKED. Who knew? lol.

I shall be here. Ho hum. Don’t worry, though. I like it wherever I am as long as I have my computer. 🙂

Ah, as I was choosing the posts to backtrack to, I ran across MacBro’s Place. Apparently they do not like the kind of OTB’s where that’s all it is. I AGREE! HooYah! They are the most boring things I’ve come upon. So why is my post short? I plead NOT GUILTY! I have been posting my little fingers to the bone, and if you don’t believe me? Just check out my home page. 🙂

PS. Thanks, Mac. I did feel like there was something missing. Some jazz! lol.

    2nd Marine Division
    .

HUSAYBAH, Iraq – It was a quiet morning patrol; a standard Alpha Company mission. Donkeys, attached to carts, were unmanned while their owners were just waking up to the sound of roosters making their morning calls. The Marines were heading directly to solve a mystery. Who shot up a citizen’s house and why?

“We had an intelligence-driven patrol where a house was shot up a week ago,” said Cpl. Travis Banks, a team leader with 1st Platoon, Alpha Company, Task Force 1st Battalion, 4th Marines attached to Regimental Combat Team 2.

Marines are trained in various ways to combat terrorism, whether it is a full-scale battle, investigative searches or looking for rogue Iraqi policeman or local gangsters. “These people are tired of being threatened by the insurgents,” said Cpl. Brian McNeill, a Springfield, Mo., native and team leader with A Company.

Husaybah used to be a hotbed for insurgency activity, but after years of fighting Marines, the townspeople now want to live in peace and realize the insurgents were only there to cause destruction. The new battle is winning the “hearts and minds” of the people here and that’s done by showing Marines care about the citizens here and by keeping fear away from their homes.

“The big fighting is done, but the insurgents are trying to intimidate the people,” said Cpl. Peter Andrisevic, a rifleman with A Company. A handful of bullet holes in someone’s door won’t make the strong-willed citizens cower to insurgents, but the quicker the culprits are found, the quicker the people can go on living in peace.

“This is a dramatic change from OIF II,” Banks said. “This is a one-hundred and eighty degree turn around from what I saw before.” Operation Iraqi Freedom II had major battles in large cities throughout Iraq, but this intelligence-driven war for the safety of Husaybah uses information from its people to capture insurgents and Al Qaeda in Iraq.

“The people who know the most are the average citizens,” Andrisevic said. Insurgents and AQI [al Qaida in Iraq] know the Iraqi Army and Police, and the Marines are hunting them down through intelligence gathered by citizens looking for justice and peace, so they hide in towns like Husaybah, using guerrilla tactics. “Insurgents are hiding here as a resting area,” Andrisevic said. “They aren’t trying to find us but we’re trying to find them.”

The enemy can’t hide forever because the people don’t want them in their town. Husaybah thrives off trade and business, and without safety and security, they can’t do either. Working with the newly formed government and coalition forces seems to be the right way in their minds.

“An IP called in with information about a weapons cache,” McNeill said. The Marine said the IP was a former supporter of the insurgency here but has joined the police force and now fights for the peace and prosperity of his people. The people here want their families to live in peace. Coalition forces want them to have peace.

“If we don’t stabilize the area and find the insurgents, we’ve wasted the last four years here,” Andrisevic said.

I have received a petition from a group I know and respect very well, the Patriot Post. They have a petition with 58,000 signatures already to free Agents Compean and Ramos, but their aim is to have at least 100,000 signers in order to present this petition to Congress. We can do this. It is for a cause I believe to be just and appropriate.

A little background: Two of our border patrol agents are sitting in prison waiting for their appeal. They are in prison for what I consider to be doing their job. You may decide on your own. One of the agents was trying to arrest a drug smuggler (he had over 700,000 lbs of cocaine in his truck) when the smuggler wrestled himself free. This agent was now on the ground.

What happens next is the bit of contention. As he is running, he turns around. What do you do? If you are so smart, what do you do??? Does he have a gun? He’s a drug smuggler. Most drug runners have guns. Is he going to shoot me? Should I wait and find out? Should I shoot one off just to scare him?

Let me give you a clue. By the time you have answered all of these questions, it won’t matter. You are dead. If he has a gun. That’s all the time it takes, and then plus some! I’m not sure of the order in which the events took place right here, so I will not pacify the urge to indulge you. I will simply admit I do not know.

I do know, however, that this dude ends up with a bullet going through his buttocks. (In and then out.) He runs and makes it across the border to Mexico. His partner, he AND ABOUT 7 OTHER AGENTS are there. Why didn’t he report the incident? Why didn’t he tell his captain that they picked up the shell casings? BECAUSE HE WAS WITH THEM. I am not going to my friend I what I had for lunch if she is the one who took me out in the first place! Duh!

Anyway, so that’s where that stands. Getting back to the petition and the need for it. This drug smuggler, who received immunity to come and go as he pleased across the border and was arrested again for more cocaine, testified against the agents after OUR government went searching for him. BTW, the fact that he was arrested again for the very same crime was NOT allowed to brought to the jury’s attention. It was inadmissible due to the fact it might influence the jury. HUH? NO KIDDING!

I’d better let you read the email before I get all upset…again.

“Free the Texas Three and Secure our Borders” — a citizen petition calling on President Bush to commute the sentences of both former Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean, and their colleague, former Sheriff’s Deputy Guillermo Hernandez; asking Congress to insist that the DEA prosecute Mexican national Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila on felony drug distribution charges; and demanding that Congress and the Bush administration secure our borders.

I urge you to sign this petition today — right now! We need 100,000 signatures.

To sign this petition online, link to — PatriotPetitions.US.

If you don’t have Web access, you can sign this petition by sending a blank e-mail to: sign-borders@PatriotPetitions.US.

Please forward this invitation to Patriot family members, friendsand associates.

    Thank you!

I hope you decide to sign this petition. We need to stop this dangerous flaw of allowing just anyone from anywhere to come into our country. It is a privilege, not a right, to be here. Our border patrol agents are doing a very unforgiving, thankless job, and I thank them for it. Amen.

Update: BTW, did I mention that the Congress is having hearings on this issue this week? Yes, they’d like to find out the truth about what happened to these men as well. Thank you.

Update 2: This article has been picked up by Ft. Hard Knoxtwice! Those are great articles over there. Honest. The title of both of these articles are: “Blog Honor Roll 08/01/07” and I was added as an update at the end of, “A Little Justice on the Way for Compean & Ramos?.” Thank you, Jenn.

Here is great news for us all. The Senate had taken out of the bill that is supposed to protect those who report suspicious behavior the protection from being sued. While in Conference, some people really stood up for America. See, what the Senate wanted to do was allow us to be sued by CAIR or any individual if they were acting suspicious, we reported it, but they turned out to be no threat. (How do they tell?) Can you say, “Dry run”?

This legislation was brought about by the Flying Imams (6 of them) in Denver who were reported as acting suspiciously before and while they were on the flight. They were removed from the plane, and now they want to sue us. Hence the term, John Doe’s. They want to sue the people who reported them as a way of shutting up the public so the next time, they will no problems committing their heinous acts.

A person could lose their entire life savings by reporting such a person, but the Democrats did not care. They wanted to please their base; the trial lawyers. We’ve won this far. Keep the pressure on them by calling toll free: 1-866-340-9281. Thank you.

    Press Release
VICTORY! CONFEREES AGREE TO PROTECT ‘JOHN DOES’– AND ALL CIVIC MINDED AMERICANS – FROM C.A.I.R. ET. AL.’S HARASSMENT LAWSUITS

(Washington, D.C.): The Center for Security Policy is gratified that its efforts, those of innumerable bloggers, radio talk show hosts and other public-minded citizens translated into an important legislative victory late last night. Thanks to the leadership of Sens. Joe Lieberman and Susan Collins, the chairman and ranking minority member, respectively, of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, and especially that of Rep. Pete King, Sen. Collins’ counterpart on the House Homeland Security Committee, legislation along the lines of that adopted by an overwhelming bipartisan majority of the House of Representatives last May at Rep. King’s initiative will shortly become law.

The language will provide protection against the sorts of harassment lawsuits filed by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) after several unidentified individuals reported six Muslim imams engaged in suspicious – and frightening – behavior prior to boarding a USAir flight in November 2006. CAIR has been identified as a front organization for the Muslim Brotherhood and is an un-indicted co-conspirator in an alleged terrorism-financing plot.

Center President Frank Gaffney said on learning of this extraordinary development:

Thanks to courageous, principled and tenacious efforts by key legislators like Rep. King and Sens. Lieberman and Collins, the American people are going to be free to do their part in the War for the Free World – serving as indispensable eyes and ears for those trying to protect us against terrorism – without fear that the likes of CAIR will be suing them for doing so.

We are extremely grateful to these lawmakers and also to members of the Democratic leadership who opposed such efforts, but eventually relented in the face of an outpouring of public demands that the King amendment be enacted into law. We are even more appreciative of the efforts made by all those who helped alert the public to the need to engage so directly and, ultimately, so decisively.

Thank God for such Americans as these!

This is one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard. CAIR has this theory that we are afraid of terrorists and terrorism and them. How could they be so wrong? I say, “Bring it on!”

We wear uniforms which make us a perfect target, they wear masks so not even their families know who they are! We say, “Bring it on!” They hide behind children and women. They ask others to blow themselves up, yet they will not go out and kill themselves. Too bad. At least we are willing to fight them face-to-face, but they will not do this. They are cowards, and CAIR seems to think we are afraid of cowards? They don’t know us, do they?!

Read a little bit of what Parvez Ahmed has to say:

A Muslim civil rights group today blamed Bush administration policies for promoting “Islamophobia” and said the “war on terror” won’t stop terrorists.

“The new perception is that the United States has entered a war with Islam itself,” said Parvez Ahmed, chairman of the national board of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

“Terrorism is a tactic. You cannot eradicate it by declaring a war against it. The war on terror is causing us infinitely more harm than the terrorists could have ever imagined.” [Continue reading.]

Hey Parvez, I have a question for you. If you are so brave and not Islamophobic, why are you not condemning your ‘brother’ terrorists down in Texas who are on trial which started yesterday?

In the Muslim community, many view the prosecution as driven by pro-Israel political forces and by a form of paranoia they call “Islamophobia.”

“The prosecution is trying to criminalize humanitarian aid,” the vice president of the Dallas chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Khalil Meek, said. “The Holy Land Foundation and its associates are not charged with any violence. They actually did feed, clothe, shelter, and provide medical support to humanitarian efforts all over the world.” [Continue reading.]

My, my. Protect thine own, eh? I guess that would make you a terrorist, si?

Let me explain something to you. Let me explain Americans to you. We do NOT cower when you walk past us. Just as with the Nazis and the Commies, we hate you for the contemptuous bastards you are and those you protect on our soil. No, we are not afraid you. We are not Islamophobic. We just know who are enemies are, and you are he!

Now for the other voice you seldom hear because CAIR is so quick to threaten anyone who speaks up against them and happens to be a Muslim living (and was born) in America. This man is speaking out, through the death threats he has received, against CAIR! He is a religious Muslim who believes that it the responsibility of every Muslim to do the same. His name is Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, and his site is American Islamic Forum for Democracy.

I recommend this Muslim’s site, because he is also an American and he is proud to be as such. He has served in our Armed Forces, and he lives in Arizona. Please give him a viewing. We say there are not enough voices condemning Muslim who commit these evil acts, well this guy does speak up for America…If only people would listen.

Hat tip: Stop the ACLU and Little Green Footballs.

I have been waiting for many years to hear this news, and they still have not convicted Charles Taylor, ex-President of Liberia. Does anyone remember how long it took for them convict Milosevic? That’s right. They never did. He died after 4 years – at least – of waiting for them to convict him or let him go. (And they have a problem with Gitmo? HA!)

FREETOWN, Sierra Leone (AP) — A U.N.-backed court trying those accused of bearing greatest responsibility for the brutality of Sierra Leone’s civil war issued its first verdicts Wednesday, convicting three former leaders of a junta that had terrorized the country during a brief reign.

The court found the three defendants guilty of 11 of 14 charges, including terrorism, using child soldiers, enslavement, rape and murder. [Continue reading.]

The crimes they were NOT convicted of were the crimes against the children. There were no sexually charged crimes that these scums were convicted of for having committed.

I have mixed feelings about this. I’m very glad these terrorists were FINALLY convicted. This lets the other people know that when you enslave children and force them to take up arms, you will be found guilty of war crimes. (Except in the Middle East, I suppose.) This trial has set that precedent. On the other hand, if you only rape these children, then what? That doesn’t matter? That is very disheartening.

Charles Taylor’s trial began in the ICC (International Criminal Court) a month ago. I guess we have at least 10 years before we get a verdict out of there. That is, if he lives that long…

This was passed along to me by Gregg from Pundit Review. I think it is as hilarious as it is eerily scary. Have fun.

JUST SUPPOSE that at every ball game, graduation, prom, etc, someone who has had enough of stupid, anti historical court decisions had the guts to start reciting the Lord’s Prayer loudly, and others joined in, then more, until hundreds participated.

And just suppose this spread all over our land until this became standard practice in hundreds of schools, then thousands, then tens of thousands.

Just what would local school boards do? Expel half the student body? (They need their jobs and federal funding far too much to do that.) What would a Federal district court do? Order hundreds of nonviolent, decent minors jailed? Or thousands?

Just what would the Supreme Court do about it – issue more edicts?

What if millions decided the Supreme Court was out of its league and said, “So what?”

Just suppose hundreds of brave school board members, local judges, prosecutors, and others, each in their own area of authority, refused to intervene, realizing that we have already tried it the other way, and the result was a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah of immorality and senseless violence.

Just suppose this then spread next into classroom after classroom, And either a brave student or a brave teacher started the Lord’s Prayer (or Psalm 100, or a Bible reading, etc.) each morning, until hundreds of thousands stood up and did their part and stopped cowering before the destructive, God-hating secular attitudes of the pagan minority who parrot the media line.

Just suppose every God-fearing Christian participated peacefully, nonviolently, but firmly and continually. Where would they get enough jails to hold us all? How would they prosecute hundreds of thousands?

It is far more than the government can do to even stop the flow of illegal drugs, despite their best efforts, and overcrowded jails.

What if hundreds of thousands stood up to the tyranny of the minority and demanded their freedom of religion back? They can’t build enough jails or courts to begin to deal with such a movement.

During the Civil Rights battles of the 60’s, some of the black people decided they had had enough and stood up to the system. A few dozen here, a few hundred there, and eventually the whole country heard, and repented, and changed. Racial repression was an evil whose time was over.

But now, there is another battle and the stakes are even higher. The future of all children, white, black, and otherwise, is at stake. No other country on earth allows a tiny minority of impractical anti-religious bigots to censor their people’s right to free religious expression. Even Russian public schools show videos of the life and teachings of Jesus now.

We tend to get exactly the kind of government we deserve.

If you make a time line or a graph, you will see that the exponential increase in public school violence, pregnancy, and foul language all started at exactly the time the Supreme Court threw prayer and Bible reading out of the schools. We told God we didn’t need Him, and the results speak for themselves.

Just suppose hundreds of Christians passed this message on to all their friends, leaders and contacts.

Just suppose hundreds of churches, organizations and ministries passed this message on to their constituencies with a request to reprint, repost and repeat it wherever possible.

Just suppose you are a lighthouse. Once upon a time the Church was the moral conscience and spiritual lighthouse of the nation. Now, most congregations are impotent, pusillanimous minor-league social welfare agencies or mutual comfort societies with no impact on the world around their little enclave.

Just suppose you don’t know what you should do.

Just suppose that you take action, pass this on, or just simply read it and YOU DO NOTHING.

Ah, that is the question, isn’t it?

An AP story reported on Aug. 31, 2004, from Atlanta, GA, a story about a young man who was killed in his jail cell. He went to the court house to petition for a permit to go to the Capitol (of Georgia) to seek redress and justice. Their land had been confiscated and given to developers with the highest bid.

Appently, in front of 1000 fellow petitioners who witnessed the judge’s policemen, Hakim Smith was beaten and while in police custady he was poisoned. He was also found to have rope marks around his neck.

In the recent past, 10,000 people were planning to demonstrate (against corruption) in front of the Capitol (of Georgia,) but they were turned away. Some of them, the “leaders,” were arrested and no one has heard from them since that day.

Do you believe that corruption by City Officials could happen in America? How about police brutality? Even people disappearing? Does this bother you, make you angry, or you just don’t care–until it happens to you? What if there is no one left to defend, stand up, and speak out for your uncaring retentive self?
