Today is day 22. We learn not only how to pray, but also what not to pray for. I like to fashion my prayers after the Master. Jesus Christ gave a great example in His sermon on the mount. Matthew 6:9-15. Have a blessed day.
Prayer.
Jesus is our best example for prayer. By observing His personal prayer life, we can learn important principles on how to have an intimate time of dialogue with the Father. (Luke 11:1)
How are we not to pray?
Do not pray like the hypocrites. (Matthew 6:5)
Do not pray like the pagans. (Matthew 6:7–8)
How are we to pray?
Pray to the Father, not to the mother, saints, or angels. (Matthew 6:6)
Do not pray like the pagans. (Matthew 6:7–8)
How are we to pray?
Pray to the Father, not to the mother, saints, or angels. (Matthew 6:6)
Pray through Jesus. He is the only way to the Father. (1 Timothy 2:5; John 14:6)
Luke 11:1. And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
Matthew 6:5. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. 7. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
1 Timothy 2:5. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
John 14:6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
